Stuck at work… are you really?

How many times have you cancelled dinner with your family or friends because you had to work? Was it worth it?

I understand that in the beginning of our careers we are full of energy and craving for challenges to prove our value and to achieve that promotion, although we keep forgetting that we are never going to be that young again, as full of energy as we used to be, as fearless as ever! That will never go back and sooner or later you’ll end up regretting it. I believe everything has to be balanced and that we shouldn’t have to let go of something you really love for other that you feel you are meant to do. Life is too short to live struggling with obligations and things that we aren’t really enjoying just because you are getting pressured to do so. If you need to spend that much time at work then you’d better love what you are doing, if you don’t, quit and find what really gives you joy and makes you feel happy when you wake up in the morning. Don’t wait for something bad to happen and give you the awakening call, if you stop for a moment and think things through you’ll realise what really matters the most to you and then you’ll be able to make the right call.

I’ll leave you with a quote that is a great inspiration for me personally…

“The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle.”
