Nothing makes me happier than waking up to a beautiful sunny day! And today, despite the cold, is one of those days. 😄 It is funny how it really impacts my day, I wake up much more energetic and laziness seems to have left my body for good. In days like this I tend to be much more productive and it is harder for me to get bored.
This effect isn’t just psychological, it actually has a scientific explanation since sunlight is one of the major sources of vitamin D, which has an active impact on mood regulation and depression prevention. Knowing this, when I moved to London I went to my doctor and talked to him about my concerns regarding UK’s lack of sunny days, so he has prescribed me with a vitamin D supplement to help me adapt to the new weather, preventing me to get depressed about it. I think it has accomplished it’s purpose although I have to confess I am actually positively surprised with how often we have been having these sunny days, am I just getting too lucky? Fingers crossed these days will endure!
